WOT Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
This website and the personal data collected through it are operated by NO SPEED LIMIT VENTURES INC, trading as WOT™ | Wide-Open Throttle Motorcycle Club™ (the "Club", "WOT", "we", "us").
NO SPEED LIMIT VENTURES INC is responsible for your personal data (the "data controller" under applicable data protection law). You can reach us about privacy at any time at privacy@wot-club.com.
2. What we collect
We deliberately collect only non-vital data, meaning the minimum information needed to register you as a founding member and keep in touch. We do not collect vital or sensitive records such as payment details, government IDs, precise location, or financial information.
When you register on wot-club.com, you choose to give us:
- Identity basics: your full name (kept private, used only for your membership record) and an optional public rider nickname;
- Profile basics: your country, city, age bracket, and gender (gender is optional);
- Contact details: your email address, your Telegram username, and optional Facebook, X, and Instagram profiles;
- Riding profile: the motorcycles you ride, your dream bike, years of riding experience, and how you relate to the motorcycle world (for example, rider, mechanic, builder, media);
- Your consent choices (what you agreed to, and when);
- Referral and attribution data (if you arrived through a member's personal link or a campaign link, we record that so members get credit, along with any campaign tags in the link and the address of the page that sent you);
- Submission time, recorded with your registration.
Your IP address is seen by our infrastructure and is used transiently for security and abuse prevention. We do not store your IP address against your membership record.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Create your founding membership, assign your personal membership code, and send your welcome email | Steps prior to membership (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Contact you about the launch, the club, chapters, rides, and member benefits, rewards, and opportunities | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) |
| Keep a record of your consent choices | Legal obligation / legitimate interests (demonstrating compliance) |
| Protect the site from bots, spam, and abuse, and keep the service secure | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time (Section 9). Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of anything done before you withdrew it.
4. No advertising, no analytics, no third-party fonts
This website sets no cookies of its own and loads no advertising, analytics, profiling, or behavioural tracking scripts. We do not measure how you move around the site and we do not build a profile of you.
Our typography is self-hosted. We do not use Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, or any third-party font or typography service that could collect data about your visit or set cookies. Font files are served directly from our own domain.
One technical component is loaded from outside our domain, purely so that registration works. It necessarily sees your IP address, as any server you connect to does. It is not used for advertising:
- Google (gstatic.com): the Firebase client library that securely submits your registration to our server functions.
Bike photos are not collected on this website. If we add that later (for example via our Telegram bot), we will update this notice and ask for consent then.
The only things stored on your device are small entries in your browser's local storage: your language choice (English or Spanish), and (after you join) a count of how many times you tapped share on this device. They never leave your device and are not cookies.
5. Our infrastructure and how we protect your data
We take the protection of your information seriously and apply all reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep it safe:
- Core infrastructure: the site runs on Google Cloud / Firebase. Member records live in Cloud Firestore, a managed database.
- Encryption: all data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest on Google Cloud infrastructure.
- No public database access: our database security rules deny all direct client reads and writes. Registrations pass only through controlled, server-side functions that validate and clean every field before anything is stored.
- Minimal exposure of identifiers: where possible we store and compare hashed (irreversibly scrambled) identifiers, for example to detect duplicate registrations without reading existing records.
- Signed, single-purpose links: email verification and unsubscribe links use signed, expiring tokens so they cannot be guessed or reused for anything else.
- Access control: access to production systems is limited to the small number of people who operate the service, under authenticated, access-controlled accounts.
No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your data to the greatest extent reasonably possible and review our safeguards as the project grows.
6. Founding members and the membership badge
WOT is a membership community with a long-term roadmap.
Every founding member receives the WOT founder's badge. It is a permanent, non-transferable membership badge, tied to your membership record rather than to your name, and it is issued to everyone who completes founding registration. It is free, and it is never tied to payment data, which we do not collect. You will be invited to collect it when the badge programme opens, and collecting it is always optional.
Beyond the founder's badge, the roadmap may include further member programmes, such as loyalty rewards and access passes.
Important:
- The founder's badge and any later programme will have their own terms and conditions, published at the relevant time and subject to the laws applicable then and in your location.
- Membership badges and similar items are community and utility items, not investments. Nothing on this site constitutes an offer of any financial product, security, or investment, and nothing here is financial, investment, or legal advice or a solicitation.
- We may have to adapt, delay, or withdraw a programme where the law, sanctions rules, or platform requirements in a given country make it necessary. Where that happens we will say so.
7. Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Ever.
We share it only with service providers who help us run the service, strictly on our instructions and under appropriate data-protection terms:
- Google Cloud / Firebase (hosting, database, file storage, and server functions);
- Resend (sending the emails you asked for, such as your welcome email, email confirmation, and club updates).
These providers process data only to deliver their service to us. We may disclose data if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of WOT, our members, or others. If our business or its assets are reorganised or transferred, your data may transfer as part of that, subject to this policy.
8. Where your data is stored, and international transfers
Your data is stored on Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure and may be processed in countries outside your own, including outside the EEA/UK. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent mechanism) to protect it.
9. Your choices and rights
You can opt out at any time:
- Use the unsubscribe link in any email we send; or
- Reply to any message asking to be removed; or
- Email privacy@wot-club.com with the subject "Remove me".
Opt-outs are processed within 48 hours, and on request we will delete your record.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to: access the data we hold about you; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to processing; receive a copy in a portable format; and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email privacy@wot-club.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
10. How long we keep it
We keep your data only while your membership or registration is active, and no longer than needed for the purposes above. If you opt out or ask for deletion, we remove your record. We may keep a minimal suppression record (for example, your email in hashed form) solely to make sure we never contact you again.
11. Age
WOT is a club built around motorcycle culture and riding. Founding membership is open to riders aged 18 and over only, and registration is not available to anyone under 18.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we hold data belonging to someone under 18, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has registered, tell us at privacy@wot-club.com and we will remove the record.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as WOT develops, for example when membership programmes or chapter features launch. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. The version in force is always the one published here.
13. Contact
Questions, requests, or complaints: privacy@wot-club.com.
This policy covers wot-club.com and the founding member registration. Specific WOT products, memberships, drops, or programmes launched in future will have their own terms and, where needed, their own privacy notices.
